Get In Tune With Your Soul Purpose And Enrich You Life

Every one of us does have a soul purpose. It belongs to conditions where we are at present. It belongs to the challenges that we can meet the opportunities we need to act on, the talents we need to nurture. If we get in tune with it and realize it in our life, we will be enriched with the balance, synergy and congruity in a unique way that will make the journey of our lives purposeful, enjoying the little stops and hurdles and setbacks and then again moving ahead.

Realizing The ‘Me’ In Your Being:

When we look back in our life and try to decipher what that had been common in our life, which had not changed with changing roles, growth of body and mind. Definitely it is neither our emotions or feelings or dreams or body, it is the sense of ‘me’ or ‘Iness’ or ego.

We will find the ‘Iness’ as relating to all those phases and experiences of life. This sense of ‘me’ or ‘Iness’ is the deepest layer of our consciousness presently. It is the quality to become self-aware of our mind and body and their experiences.

The Four Basic Purposes That The Soul Needs To Align With:

Our activities need to be geared along one or more of the four broad categories to align with our spiritual nature. It is a great wonder to realize that this concept doesn’t limit us in ‘dos-and-don’ts’ morals. It frees us to explore our true soul purpose and to align our activities with our purpose. Our holistic or spiritual nature recognizes that we are a composite being of soul, mind, emotions, energy and body.

The first worthy pursuit for everyone is alignment with universal principles like fairness, equality etc. Second one is related to working and earning money – monetary pursuits. Third category is fulfilling sense desires and emotional desires – hearing, touching, tasting, smelling, seeing and of course sexual pleasure. Fourth category is doing activities that broaden and expand human perspective, evolve our consciousness.

Relax for few moments and try to analyze any of your activity. It will naturally fall under one or more of these categories. Now the question is how to put these ‘universal pursuits’ in context with our own personality and our own specific context. Then we can move ahead and create a balance of these basic purposes without conflict on individual or social or other levels.

How To Create Synergy Of Soul Purpose And Enrich Our Lives:

One of spiritual master best depicts the balance of the four avenues of our focus and energy.

“You are a bird whose body is made of universal principles and there are two wings - one for monetary pursuits and second for sensual and mental fulfilments. These two wings with the support of universal principles make the bird fly toward the goal of spiritual awakening and upliftment.”

Spiritual awakening or evolution is not a small goal that we can put on our planner and assign it short term or mid term or long term value. It is a continuous journey – 24X7X365 – throughout life. We are evolving as a whole. True spirituality doesn’t restrict us from enjoying sensual pleasures, but with it we enjoy them with a larger perspective in mind. Our lives become more streamlined and focused.

Feel the contrast between two passengers who are boarding a train. One is destined to a specific station. He buys a ticket and boards the train. He enjoys the journey, the stations and meals and all the good and bad incidences. The another fellow gets down on each station and wanders here and there, associates himself with various incidences and scenes and forgets about the journey. That is the difference between streamlined, focused and congruent life and it’s opposite.

Discovering Your Individual Soul Purpose And Aligning With It:

Whether we believe in reincarnation or not, we are born with a particular set of instincts, inclinations and we draw many other things in life based on these.

We need to be more silent and introverted and meditative to find out about our talents and passions. We can sense our natural inclinations or talents by our feelings – what we enjoy most, where our mind is transfixed, when we forget time doing something and like.

When we do what we like in alignment with universal principles and pursue other pleasures of mind, we are following our soul purpose. We are leading a spiritual life. We are evolving spiritually. Of course, we can emphasize a particular aspect during some period of day or week or month. And it is a dynamic balance.

John Gray, famous for ‘Men Are From Mars…’ series of books, has described this balance in a good way, “This balance is like when we ride a bicyle. We lose balance to either this side or another but we retain it again.”  We might fall sometimes but when we are conscious of the soul purpose, we become aligned again, we attune ourselves to it.

The one sign of purpose living is congruity among consciousness, thoughts, feelings, emotions, speech and behavior. This congruity makes us peaceful, satisfied, focused and able to draw the resources that support us lead a purposeful living.

Finally, get rid of the taboos and myths that we could pursue our soul purpose only by becoming a hermit or secluding us in a retreat or by abandoning sensual pleasures. The key lies in maintaining the balance. We can lead a spiritually balanced life, fully aligned with our soul purpose, right where we are now, enjoying our families, work, relationships and of course challenges. Enrich your life by maintaining the dynamic balance of soul purpose.

Lets Define Spirituality…

What is spirituality? How do you define it for yourself and what does it ultimately mean to you in your life? How you define spirituality for yourself has a big impact on your experience and also your relationship to this intangible dimension of life that we all long to know more intimately. On a very fundamental level we can define spirituality as everything that deals with matters of our spirit (or our soul). Each and every one of us have an aspect of ourselves that is invisible but still very real. In fact this invisible part of ourselves is the very essence of our lives and spirituality is about being connected with this spiritual part while being in the physical world.

We all have spiritual experiences all the time. Spirituality is not just about recognizing these spiritual experiences, but consciously seeking these experiences and to develop a greater sensitivity to the spiritual in life. It’s about growing this tiny spark that’s inside each and every one of us to become a more dominant force in your everyday life. By nurturing the seeds of divinity that’s inside each and every one of us, you can start to deliberately work with the very ‘laws’ that govern all of life and the physical world.

Everything in the physical world emanates from an invisible source. Spirituality connects you with this profoundly and powerful divine force that’s present in all of the universe. So often we try and change our physical circumstances by ‘moving things around’ in the physical world. The transforming truth about spirituality is that the solutions to our external conditions lie inside. The outer world flows from the inner world. When you are connected to your own spirituality you are connected to the very source of everything in the world. You uplift your world by first transforming and uplifting your own inner world and your inner vision.

The greatest challenge is that many people define spirituality by religious connotations and religion is almost exclusively based on outward experience and conforming to someone else’s rules. Spirituality is not so much about external observations, but more about inner experiences. It is deeply personal and something that only you can truly define for yourself since these inner experiences are often very hard to fully express in words and explanations.

Since the seeds of divinity is already inside you (it is the essence of life), hearing the right words may trigger within you your own awakening to a higher level of consciousness. This is a spiritual consciousness that transcends the physical world and your ordinary sensory perceptions of life. From this point of view religion can be very useful in assisting you to find your own spiritual centre, but religion without spirituality can be very empty and most often it becomes an emotional experience rather than a spiritual one.

For the most part religion is riddled with superstition, rules and dogma. It’s predominantly based on someone else’s beliefs and experiences rather the personal experience of God within. It’s a bit like wearing someone else’s shoes – even if it is the right size it feels uncomfortable, but if you wear it enough eventually you get used to it until it becomes your very own.

One of the most powerful and useful ways to define spirituality for yourself is to recognize and nurture that divine spark deep within you. As you grow in your understanding of this spiritual dimension you will be able to transcend the illusion of everyday awareness. Ultimately spirituality is about enriching your experience of life and to see a greater sense of meaning and purpose in life. Regardless of how you define spirituality, it is that still silent voice deep within. It is your spirit and it is your constant companion on life’s journey. It is your own personal connection to the higher intelligence that’s present in all of life.

Wisdom, God and A Deeper Understanding of Life

The word ‘wisdom’ gets thrown around quite often in spiritual discussions – often as the result of some profound insight. For many, wisdom is believed to be some special knowledge, reserved for a chosen few who has a deeper insight into life. Although this is true in many ways, wisdom has a much simpler and more far reaching meaning.

So what is wisdom really? For one, it is something that is valued in virtually all cultures throughout the world and throughout the ages wise people lead the way to a deeper understanding of life. Wisdom is not about having mere knowledge. It’s much beyond that and in many ways knowledge itself is not even necessary to have wisdom. Wisdom is an inner understanding that often contradicts intellectual knowledge.

Wisdom is almost always beyond the obvious and the conventional way of thinking. The majority of our thoughts are habitual – meaning that they have been thought before and the scary thing is that these are mostly someone else’s thoughts that we’ve become accustomed to. From this point of view wisdom is often a realization of our own erroneous thinking. When we recognize a great wisdom it is as if we see ‘a light’ inside our minds – a special feeling inside which leads us to a greater understanding.

Wisdom is not something you attain as much as it is something you grow into. For most of us wisdom is synonymous with an old man and a long flowing grey beard. Although it is true that wisdom comes with age, you don’t need to be old to be wise. Most of the profound insights that you will come to in your life won’t be about new ‘undiscovered things’ but rather a new way of seeing even the most mundane things. It’s almost as if you grow up and get born into a conditioned way of thinking and when you reach adulthood you have to grow out of it – shedding your skin to really live an inspired life.

For me all great wisdom is spiritual by nature. All great insights into life are insights that transcends the physical world and our mere observations. It’s metaphysical (beyond the physical)  and therefore it often contradicts conventional thinking. Wisdom is about seeing past the obvious appearances of things. When you do this you cannot help but to recognize something bigger and greater at work behind everything in life. This great invisible force that some call God is not confined to spiritual thinkers, but is the very force of life that flows through everything.

The true meaning of wisdom is having an intimate knowledge of God and the spiritual and metaphysical dimension that will help you see past the appearances of things to reveal a greater meaning behind it all. In Dr. Wayne Dyer’s 10 Secrets For Success And Inner Peace, he offers a great insight into wisdom. One of his secrets for success and inner peace is a definition for wisdom. He says that wisdom is avoiding all thoughts that weaken you.

Every thought you have will either strengthen or weaken you. On this deeper metaphysical level of life, your thoughts create your life. Having the ability to ‘see’ and to realize this is what wisdom is really about. Virtually every spiritual text refers to the power of thought and how we create our lives through our thoughts. This great law, the Law Of Attraction is a controlling law in the universe that dictates what we attract and create in our lives.

Learning to distinguish and then to avoid the thoughts that weaken you will give you a greater sense of power and authentic energy in your life. Weak thoughts like anger, hate and jealousy always weaken you because it requires a counter force. Thoughts of love, peace and joy will only strengthen you because it never takes anything from you – it only ‘adds’ to you. In this sense wisdom will allow you to enjoy a greater sense of inner peace and it will help you to move right past conflict and confrontation.

So often we focus on what’s wrong in our lives in an attempt to ‘fix’ it. What wisdom teaches us is to shift from what’s wrong, to what’s right. Carl Jung once said that “what you resist persists” – wise words from a wise man who understood that what you think about, will only recreate itself in your life experience.

The true meaning of wisdom is to have the insight that’s beyond the obvious. It’s learning to see that beyond the surface level of life experiences, there is something greater and bigger at work. This invisible (yet knowable) life force is intimately connected to you and your thoughts. What you think about expands in your life and learning to avoid that which weakens you will allow you to cultivate your own authentic power and ultimately create for yourself the kind of life you really want to live.

3 Great Insights Into The Meaning Of Spiritual Enlightenment

What is enlightenment? This question has become very controversial and in many ways it went from a religious quest to a philosophical quest. In fact, it’s become so debated that there’s a magazine dedicated to the subject. WIE (What Is Enlightenment) is a magazine well worth picking up and it’s on the cutting edge of modern thinking about spirituality and higher consciousness.

Finding a definitive definition for spiritual enlightenment can be quite a challenge. Expressing in words the magnitude of this inner realization that we have come to define as enlightenment, almost always fails to fully explain the conviction and experience of having that profoundly connected feeling. The idea of enlightenment is often misunderstood as a goal or a state of mind that you have to reach in order to be truly spiritual. The idea of enlightenment is multidimensional and offers us some great insights into life and our own spiritual path.

A greater understanding of the meaning of enlightenment will help us to understand more of that spiritual dimension of life. To better understand what enlightenment is, let’s look at three great insights about what it might mean.

The first great insight into enlightenment is that it is a higher awareness. This higher awareness is an awareness of something higher or beyond ordinary everyday awareness (which is almost a state of ‘sleepwalking’ for most people). We all experience life through our sense and for the vast majority of people their experience of life is confined to this sensory experience. There is, however another level of life; a level that is beyond the mere sensory experience. God, soul, spirit – call it what you will is that presence deep within you that’s your constant companion in life. In fact it is the essence of who you really are.

This higher awareness is about recognizing that you are not just a physical being with the occasional spiritual experiences, but that you are in fact a spiritual being having a human experience. In the New Testament, St. Paul said that “you are in this world, but you are not from this world.” This awareness will help you to see past most of the mundane daily struggles that keeps so many people bogged down in an unhappy life. Whenever you are aware of this higher power in your life, you are in an enlightened state. By turning your thoughts to God, you automatically turn your thoughts inwards and become aware of God’s presence in your life.

The second great insight into enlightenment is that the world is the way it is because it is the way it is. Everything is the way it is and the proof for it is that it ‘is’. The question is what are you doing with what ‘is’. Enlightenment has been described as the quiet acceptance of everything. When you realize that everything in this universe happens according to divine law, you will have the insight that things don’t just happen and that there are no mistakes in this perfect system. We tend to strive only for an illusive state of ‘perfection’ and when things don’t work the way we want them to, we tend to call it ‘bad’.

The truth is that underneath our shallow perceptions there is something bigger and greater at work and this is why all the great sages were able to remain at peace in the face of great challenges. They knew that in this world nothing ever goes wrong. When Jesus was crucified he was able to forgive, knowing that even that was part of the perfectly orchestrated universe. When things don’t seem to be working for you, maybe there is something else that is working.

The third great insight into enlightenment is probably the most important. This insight is that every time you are at peace you are enlightened. Inner peace, although it has very little value in our culture, is probably the most important thing anyone of us can have in our lives. With a sense of inner peace you are truly happy and content with your Self. In this state your mind is quiet and you are connected to God. God and peace is synonymous and when you have inner peace you have God within. Inner turmoil suffocates your spirit and builds a wall around your consciousness that prevents you from living from your higher self and seeing life with a greater sense of clarity.

Enlightenment is within your reach. It’s not something to attain but rather something you connect with. It’s a state of being where you are united with your true spiritual origin – it is when you are connected with God and therefore everything in creation. Connectedness leads us to the realization that we are all one, which removes conflict and gives us a sense of inner peace which allows us to joyfully accept everything.

The Fundamental Difference Between Religion and Spirituality

In the last few years religion has come under a fresh range of attacks and with books like Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion we are once again doubting the role of religion and whether it really is the path to God. I believe that there are many ways of finding God and if you need a specific religion to do it, then so be it. The problem is that religion, by nature, confines us to rules and the testimonials of others while spirituality in a broader sense places the responsibility right back on your own shoulders. Being spiritual without religion is not only possible but eventually it will be inevitable. George Bernard Shaw  probable best summed it up when he said “There is only one religion, though there are a hundred versions of it.”

Religion can loosely be described as the formalized ideas held by a group of people to define their understanding of God and their relationship to the creator and creation. In some shape or form, religion has been present in human civilizations since the beginning of time. Throughout history cultural development has been inextricably linked to people’s view of the world and their relationship to the mysterious and the unknown dimension of life that we’ve come to call God.

Religion has taken on many different forms and many different views in many different cultures all over the world. The one common idea is that the religion will collectively value, uphold and even impose a set of beliefs which they consider the path to God and ‘the truth’ about this mysterious, yet ever present force of life. I must admit that the one thing that always bugged me as a child was this idea that God must be cruel only to save those who worship him in a certain way (fortunately I was ‘right’).

Along with religion, came a certain level of power – especially for those who ‘made the rules’ and who were believed to be appointed by God to rule the people. In the early Christian church, the religious leaders were also the politicians and they ruled by fear, violently imposing their ideas upon the people. You were told what to believe and how to behave in virtually every aspect of life. There was absolutely no room for really getting to know God, because those who claimed to know God were the only one who can speak to God, and be spoken to by God.

Some of the earliest meaning of the word religion comes from a Latin interpretation that means ‘to bind’ – an bind it did, keeping people tied to silly ideas for centuries. Religious ideas have been developed and refined for centuries and is almost exclusively designed to keep people from stepping out of line and ‘being different’. The fundamental difference between spirituality and religion is that religion is based on knowing ABOUT God, while spirituality is based on KNOWING God - on a personal level.

There’s a big difference between knowing about God and knowing God. Knowing about God is about intellectual knowledge and relying on the testimonials and experiences of others, while knowing God is a deeply personal and ‘inner knowing’ that you are indeed connected to God. This is a personal relationship to God and an insight that you don’t need to go to a special building to find God, but that you simply have to look deep within yourself. It means that you don’t need some special person with a college education to lead you to God, but that you simply have to turn inwards to find divine guidance.

It’s been said that you can’t get wet from the word water and however strange this might sound, it is very true for many people’s spiritual journeys. Until and unless you go from the intellectual idea to the inner knowing where you make personal contact with God, spirituality will always be something you do to satisfy your ego’s need to ‘be a good person’. By turning inwards and following your inner guidance you will start to open up yourself to a whole new dimension of life. You no longer have to turn to someone else’s rules or be dictated for by other people’s ideas – ideas that are mostly designed to keep you thinking and acting like everybody else.

True freedom and a profound sense of liberation comes from this personal relationship to God and knowing that you don’t need to be saved, that you are in fact born a good person and that God cares about you regardless of whether you comply to some religion’s rules. Spirituality will lead you to the realization that you are whole, complete and magnificent in every possible way and that you are unique and special with your own grand mission in life. Your purpose in life in not to live up to the expectations of other in order to be a good person, but rather to live up to the expectations of your Self, your spirit (or your soul) and to become, in form, the kind of person you were destined to be.

You can get to know God for yourself. It will lead you to the realization that you are in fact “God’ – you are a part of God and contain within you a portion of this Divine force that makes up the very essence of life. Listen to other people, hear them out and discover their view of God, but then go within and find God for yourself. This is where all the power is. This is where the freedom lies and if you need a religion to help you develop your understanding of God, then practice it! Remember to keep and open mind and don’t just focus only on what you are told about God but rather what you feel to be true deep down inside.

Spirituality, Enlightenment and Waiting For Your Life To Be Perfect

The idea of enlightenment is as old as mankind’s search for a greater truth behind life. Although the term enlightenment originated in ancient eastern religions, it has almost taken on a life of it’s own in modern spirituality. You may ask yourself ‘what is enlightenment?’ and like most before you, your answer will fall well short of fully encapsulating the totality of it’s meaning. I don’t believe that there are any definitive definitions or explanations for what enlightenment is. But, I do believe that there are many great insights from this profound idea that can help us to better understand that invisible spiritual dimension of life.

The beginning of the 18th century was the start of an era better known as the Age Of Enlightenment – a period of time in history that is characterized by a global shift in thinking. Essentially, The Age Of Enlightenment took mankind out of the ‘dark ages’ where the state and the church had a monopoly on ‘knowledge’ and they controlled what people were allowed to believe.

Along with many great scientific discoveries (of which Newton’s laws were one of the most significant) a new intellectual awareness compelled ‘ordinary’ people to start thinking and exploring life for themselves. It’s as if people’s mind were opened to a whole new world. They started to turn their attention inwards instead of looking to the church to tell them what to think and believe. This global shift in thinking was the birth of our modern world; a world were we can explore life for ourselves and learn to command our own thoughts and direct our own consciousness.

What took mankind out of the dark ages and into ‘the light’ was knowledge and learning to look past dogma and convention. Hence the name The Age Of Enlightenment because it refers to the idea of casting a light unto what was previously dark.Have you ever tried finding your way in a dark room? You feel hopeless, uncertain and lost. This is how many people feel in their everyday lives – as if they are living in a spiritual darkness. In this sense the idea of enlightenment can be a great insight for you. Enlightenment is nothing but turning on your own inner light to help you ‘see’. This seeing is not sight as we’ve all come to know it but rather an inner sight (or an insight) that goes beyond that of ordinary everyday perception.

Many people think of enlightenment as a ‘goal’ – as a state of awareness to reach by following certain spiritual practices and when they eventually reach this goal their entire life will be blissful and without any problems. The truth is that this is impossible, for the very nature of our consciousness is for it to expand and enlightenment is about the unfolding of your spirit by expanding your awareness.

This inner light that helps us to perceive things in greater truth will not change our outer world as much as it will change our inner world. It’s an inner realization that will help you to change the filter through which you perceive and experience everything in life. Enlightenment is not an attainment, but a realization. Once you reach this realization nothing will change, yet everything will change. You will find that even though the world hasn’t change it appears as if it has because you see it anew.

We all spend much of our lives working towards the attainment of an ideal state of mind; a state of mind where we are happy, where we feel peaceful and where we feel that our lives are meaningful. Many think of enlightenment as this ‘ideal’ state of mind. But, life is never fixed in time and enlightenment is about allowing your spirit to grow into this life by expanding your awareness of who you really are. Enlightenment is that inner light that gets switched on through inner wisdom. It allows you to see past the illusion of your sensory experiences of life and to see in ever greater clarity that divine part of who you really are.

3 Life Changing Quotes On Spirituality

Underneath the surface level of life there is a dimension that we all long to make contact with. This level of consciousness is not bound by the physical world and is much beyond all the boundaries and limitations of ‘reality’. It is this consciousness that we call the spiritual and although there are many views and definitions of what spirituality really is, the one thing we know it is, is that it’s that invisible part of life that affects our life in many deep and often mysterious ways.

What I would like to do here is to present 3 quotes on spirituality that I find deeply insightful. It comes from 3 very influential people; people who have made vastly different contributions to life and our understanding of what it means to be a human being in this world. It’s one thing to receive spiritual advice from a spiritual teacher, but to receive it from someone who actually lived it makes it so much more practical and believable.

The first quote is from Joseph Campbell, a man who spent a lifetime writing and thinking about the mysteries of life. Joseph Campbell is very well known in academic circles for his work on metaphysics and the significance of mystery in our lives. Here’s what he had to say:

“All you can learn is what your own inward life is and try to stay loyal to that.”

In our ego driven world we all tend to look outside ourselves for approval and our peers tend to dictate much of our aspirations. We tend to compare ourselves to others to determine where we are in life and also where we ought to be going.

The great value of spirituality is that it calls on you to look deep within to find your own unique place and path in life. Realizing that you are unique in every way and that on a spiritual level you have a unique journey through life will open you up to a new way of living. When you look within you will discover that authentic spiritual part called your Self through which your entire life is lived. Joseph Campbell tells us to find this part of ourselves and then to stay true to that instead of always looking outside of ourselves for answers.

True fulfillment in life will never come from living up to someone else’s expectations or living your life the way you believe you ought to. It will never come from the attainment of goals or achieving success on someone else’s terms. The ultimate purpose of life is to find out what you are about on that deeper spiritual level and then to live it – it’s about translating your spiritual nature into you’re the life you are living.

So how do we do this?

There are many great insights, but one of the most powerful comes from a ‘little’ unassuming woman who changed the world through compassion. Here’s what she had to say:

“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.”

The first quote on spirituality from Joseph Campbell was about finding your own authentic path in life. In this quote from Mother Theresa, she tells us how to do it. When mother Theresa offers spiritual advice I for one am willing to listen.

Mother Theresa shares with us a very profound spiritual lesson - embrace silence. God is the friend of silence and when you quiet your mind, you get to reconnect with God on a personal level. In our crazy-busy world, silence is often frowned upon. Dedicating time for silence and contemplation is probably the last thing on most people’s list of priorities, yet this is where true authentic power in life comes from. When you empty your mind from all the mundane demands and you return to the centre deep within, you are once again connected with that divine power that orchestrates the entire universe.

In a world dominated by new trends and technologies it seems like there is an even greater demand on our attention from every direction. We marvel at the latest inventions and the wonders of new technology, but still it’s all very temporary and only lasts until the next best thing comes along.

Technology is an wonderful part of life and is as much a part of the wonder of creation as anything else. Even when you look beyond all the man-made wonders and venture into nature to observe a sunset, a shooting star or a thunderstorm, there is one thing that is universally mysterious about it all. Even with our technology advances and scientific knowledge, there is still a huge part of life that we simply do not understand and even something as fundamental as ‘where do we come from’ remains a mystery to us. Renowned scientist Albert Einstein spent a large part of his life trying to come up with answers to some of life’s most pressing questions. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”

Behind all the surface wonders of the world lies a deeper mystery – as if there is a divine hand behind it all that silently orchestrates and organizes it. This is the true wonder of life. At the heart of spirituality is this wonderful and mysterious force that is the essence of life.

Spirituality is about really waking up to life and to develop a higher awareness – an awareness of that mysterious force behind all of life. If you are not absolutely fascinated with life then you simply don’t know enough. It’s ironic that our modern day scientists are becoming more and more spiritual because the more we find out about the true nature of life, the more they are realizing that there is an indescribably force behind it all.

These 3 quotes on spirituality are from 3 very different people, but their message is the same: beyond the mundane activities of life there is something bigger; a higher force that some call God. It is in your nature to know this Force. Discover The 10 Secrets For Success And Inner Peace

Dr. Wayne Dyer’s bestselling book The 10 Secrets For Success And Inner Peace, suggests a vastly different approach to success. For most of us success is something that we’ve been lead to believe requires a lot of effort, determination and hard work. For the most part this effort is something that we have to find a way to do because of the rewards at the end of the tunnel. Ultimately, the goal seems to be to have enough time to do the things we really want to do and this process of pushing past short term obstacles for the sake of long term rewards becomes a driving force.

This approach to success seems to be the dominant one and learning all the principles of hard work, persistence, goal setting, planning etc. might make you successful, but the problem is that it requires constant motivation an inner coercion. Although hard work and all the principles behind success are important, there is something beyond it all that’s often overlooked. There is another way; a different path to living the life you really want to live. Although this is a less popular path, ultimately, it is a much more fulfilling approach to success.

This alternative path is what you might call the path of least resistance. It’s not about beating other people, conquering the world or accumulating more and more. Instead, it is about learning to be inner directive and following your own unique path in life. Ultimately it is about being fulfilled and realizing your Self. It’s a path that’s not concerned with the final destination as much as it is concerned with every step along the way and being joyful and fulfilled with life.

In The 10 Secrets For Success And Inner Peace, Dr. Wayne Dyer outlines the 10 principles for true success. These are 10 principles for creating that inner sense of fulfillment and learning to cultivate an authentic power in your life. Here’s a brief overview of these 10 powerful principles:

Seeing Your Unique Path And Uncovering Your Higher Purpose In Life

“We may turn to God when our foundations are shaking,
only to discover it is God who is shaking them.”

- Hebrew Proverb

Perception is everything. Everything that happens to you; everything from your past and everything in your future all relies on one simple thing and that is how do you choose to process that which happens to you? The way you choose to process everything that has or will happen to you makes up your entire experience of life. Although this ‘choice’ is mostly unconscious, it’s still a choice and something that you can take control of.

The majority of people are oblivious to this powerful fact, mostly because the majority of our thoughts are shaped automatically by our past conditioning. Most reactions and interpretations are decided in split seconds by our unconscious awareness. Higher awareness on the other hand is a state of mind where you learn to transcend ordinary ‘autopilot’ awareness and where you become more conscious of the illusion of everyday occurrences. Living your life with a higher awareness will allow you to find a deeper sense of meaning in ALL of life and help you to discover your own unique life purpose.

We tend to think that our life purpose only gets defined by our successes and our ‘glory moments’ BUT, even more so does our failures help to define our unique life path.

The one thing that we all have in common is our pursuit of happiness. No one will consciously pursue anything that they believe will make them unhappy, yet there are so many people who are unhappy. Despite their best efforts, very few people get to truly create for themselves the kind of life that they ultimately desire. We tend to curse the ‘bad’ things in life and celebrate the good, but the transforming insight is that any life has many seasons. When you realize that you can start to welcome even the ‘mistakes’ and start to see it as an integral part of life. Regardless of how skilled or resilient you are, you will have ‘bad’ times.

Although we all pursue happiness and the good in life, we need the flipside not only to provide the contrast, but also to help us define what we really want. A rich life; one that is truly fulfilled is not one that is only full of the good, but one that is filled with both. Learning to deal with and even celebrate the flipside of life is just as important as celebrating the joys of life. We tend to think that all the tragedies and setbacks in life can’t possibly be part of our life’s purpose, but in many ways these are the very things that help to define your life purpose and redirect you to your own unique path in life.

In mid winter when everything is snowed under it’s quite hard to imagine a warm sunny day. The same is true when we meet with the ‘misfortunes’ of life – it tends to be really hard to find an empowering meaning while we are going through a tough time. Looking back at your life however, it becomes easier to find and to see a deeper meaning in what you went through. In hindsight we are able to ‘connect the dots’ and see that a divine hand has played it’s part all along. Your purpose in life is not just defined by the big ‘wins’ but also by the setbacks and learning to see this as it happens is a great step in your own personal and spiritual growth.

Your entire life is about spirit unfolding through you and until and unless you listen to this spiritual aspect of yourself trying to reconnects with you, you will continue to feel like something is missing. All of your life is on purpose. But you have to be able to see it in order to use it as a means of sculpting your life and your experience of life.

By embracing it all you can start to hear that silent inner voice that’s constantly trying to reconnect you with your bliss. Maybe the setback is God trying to tell you to move on; to take a new direction to connect to your purpose. When you start seeing your purpose as something that is continuously unfolding in every moment of your life, your entire perspective of life changes.

Think of you higher purpose in life as a big puzzle and every aspect of your life is a piece of this puzzle. If you are only looking for the ‘pretty pieces’ you will never be able to complete the puzzle. Sometimes the seemingly insignificant pieces makes you see the bigger picture. All of it is part of the puzzle. Know that in every aspect of your life there is something greater happening behind the scenes. All you have to do is to be open to this and realize that God’s divine guidance is present in everything. When the foundations of your life are shaking, instead of cursing it, try and look beyond it and realize that there is Someone who is trying to give you an important message: get your life on purpose.

Living your life with a greater sense of spirituality will help you to seeing everything that you are going through as something that you have to go through. You can stop blaming and wallowing in setbacks, and start using everything that comes your way as a tool to help sculpt your soul. Developing a Higher Awareness through spirituality will help you to develop a greater awareness of what’s really going on.

Ask for divine guidance and affirm to yourself that you intend to live your life on purpose. Intend for your life to be on purpose. Then, observe your life. Start to pay greater attention to everything you attract into your life – especially the seemingly insignificant things. Observe all the people that come in and out of your life. Observe everything that happens to you and start to look for that deeper meaning - this will lead and guide you to your life purpose and your own unique path in life.

Spirituality and The Power Of Being Open Minded

“Thought is the sculptor who can create the
person you want to be.”
- Henry David Thoreau

The seemingly incompatible ideas of being both successful and spiritual are a very intriguing and powerful field that Dr. Wayne Dyer explores in his internationally bestselling book, The 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace. In the book Wayne Dyer explores a vastly new attitude towards life, success and spirituality. This attitude goes against the grain of much of what we’ve come to believe about living an extraordinary life and it calls on us to adopt a new way of perceiving ourselves and the world at large.

In a world that seems to be obsessed with having more and being the best, it’s hard for many people to comprehend success as a spiritual idea, yet in this book Wayne Dyer lays down a series of timeless principles that each and every one of us can follow and practice in our everyday lives to create for ourselves the kind of life that we ultimately desire.

(you can download a FREE summary of this book – click here… for more info)

This new spirituality is not one which you can keep neatly wrapped up until next Sunday morning. It is not a spirituality that is grounded in the traditional stigma of fear and dogma. Instead, it is a very practical and personal spirituality – one where God is personal and part of ALL of your life. The ultimate purpose of spirituality is for it to serve you and not frighten or judge you. The challenge is that we get born into a life and with this comes a set of belief that we cannot help but to adopt. This is the very thing that often keeps us from making the kind of progress that will free us.

A very important aspect of your personal and spiritual growth is to be willing to be wrong and to have your belief system turned upside down. One of Wayne Dyer’s secrets for success and inner peace is to have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing. Having an open mind is a very hard thing for most of us to have simply because we’ve all been conditioned in so many different ways. Most of what we think is right or wrong is nothing but a function of the environment that we grew up in. When you close your mind, you close yourself off from what’s possible for you. When you open your mind to everything, you open the doors to the creative genius within you.

What you are capable of is a function of your mind and what you believe as being possible and not your physical capabilities or resources. Scientists have now proofed that until and unless you can see something happening in your mind, you won’t take the action necessary to make it happen. With an open mind, you are open to new suggestions and along with this you are able to see the entire world in a new way. Throughout history, all progress depended on people to have an open mind and people who were able to consider and conceive of the ‘impossible’ where those responsible for advancing humanity. A mind that is closed, especially to the obvious, is a mind that will only continue to move along the same line. Open minds can break their bounds and see things afresh.

Your own inner genius relies on you to allow it to blossom and it starts by opening your mind. Creativity is a force that requires a fresh look at things and a mind that is open is a mind that allows the creative force of the universe to work through it. Even though most people claim to be open minded, very few are truly open to new points of view. Very few people are willing to be wrong or to have their own beliefs challenged.

When it comes to matter spiritual people tend to tighten up. We’ve been so conditioned into slotting spiritual approaches into categories – especially when it comes to religion. People are incredibly sensitive when it comes to spiritual beliefs, and some will even defend it with their lives. George Bernard Shaw once said that “There is only one religion, though there are a hundred versions of it.”

What’s your view of it?

Sometimes we just can’t help but to ‘slot’ people and to be judgmental, BUT being open minded calls on us to let go of this and to really explore the possibilities. Life’s treasures are usually found in the most unlikely places!

Living a more spiritually conscious life requires of you to be more open minded. The fact remains that we know very little about the true nature of the world we live in. There are just so many dimensions to life and so many unanswered questions that after 2000 years we are only starting to get a glimpse at the vastness of it all. How can anyone be an optimist in a world that is so rich in unexplored ideas and unanswered questions? How do we really know things are what they are? With an open mind you can start to embrace more of life and in the process you will start to develop a greater sense of awe for life. This is the foundation of having a rich life – rich in experience and in the totally of what you allow into your own private world.

Spirituality is at the centre of our exploration into the world we live in and ultimately understanding more about ourselves is a thirst that we all have to quench. Spirituality has always been at the centre of humankind’s quest to know itself – to discover and explore life’s most profound quests. Life is not so much an ‘either or’ as it is an ‘as well as’ but our conditioning keeps us locked up in our own limiting beliefs. Open your mind and free yourself from the limitations that keep you locked up in your own limitations. An open mind will free that creative force that lies dormant within you. An open mind will help you to create a greater sense of harmony in your life and embrace more of life with a sense of wonder and awe. Free your mind and your spirit will follow.
